Ehrlich’s Hematoxylin

Fixation:
Formalin 10% Neutral Buffered (#15740) or fixative of choice
Sections:
Paraffin @ 5 -6 microns.
Staining Procedures:
- Deparaffinize and hydrate to distilled water.
- Stain for 2 – 5 minutes in Ehrlich’s Hematoxylin (#26753-01). Wash in distilled water.
- Differentiate in Acid Alcohol (#26753-02) until the sections turn red.
- Blue section in Sodium Acetate, 1% (#26753-03) or Ammonium Water (#26753-3A) or Lithium Carbonate Solution (#26753-3B)
- Wash thoroughly and counterstain.
